This is Najib, also from 4A. Im going to talk about guitar, instrument which falls in music category. In music, there are many instruments used to make different sound in a pleasent way. And guitar is one of them which mostly used in many genre of music, particularly rock music.

Guitar have 4 main families which are electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass guitar and acoustic bass guitar.the difference in between them is that electric guitar have a solid body and which do not produce sound if it is not connected to electricity and acoustic have hollow ones which magnifies the sound from the vibration of the picking up the sound from the string, but electric guitar are more easier to handle than acoustic guitars in short but now we are focusing on different parts of acoustic guitars.

Acoustic guitars are usually made from different types of wood such as spruce and are laminated before each part of the body joined together to get the guitar a nice feel on the skin anddoes not harm the wearer. This type of woods of a guitar usually decide how expensive it is.

The parts of a guitar are the head stock , neck and body. The headstock mounts six string tuners which are connected to six strings of a guitar and runs along the fretboard and end at the body after the guitar's sound hole. The neck is where fretboard sits which have maximum 22 frets.one fret is divided from the other frets by metal strip that raise a little on the fretboard. The fret is where guitarist can make different note of the same string. The body is where the strings are plucked by using finger or pick or strumming, hitting al the strings at the same time.the strings are named, from top to bottom, low E, A, D, G, B and high E.

Hey everyone. Its Zaimi. Im going to talk about the music in Maktab Sains. As you know, they are many music groups in Maktab Sains such as the choirs and the school band. For this post, I'm going to talk about the school band.

The School Band was established in May 2007. I am one of the first to join them.it started with 20 members. All of us were given instruments. They let us borrowed it and we can take it home. However, if we lost or damaged or quit the band, we must return it to the teachers in charge. My instrument is the biggest. In September, we finally perform the first concert ever. But its not for public, its only open for parents. Late 2007, we combined with the Maktab SOAS band and perform an opening and closing ceremony for the International Sports Competition.

In 2008, the band members increased to 35 but unfortunately many of us got in the express class, so they have to quit the band. But some of them still in the band. They just come whenever they have time. We don't have much activities this year because we spend our time studying. Even though we studied, we still have our second concert but its still for parents. They are awards given for the member. I was given the title The Best Student in the school band. We also perform for the annual Sports Day and its for the public. We also combined with the Maktab SOAS and the Army Cadets Band for the closing ceremony for the International Sports Competition.

Then, in early 2009, we performed a concert to attract the juniors to join the school band. There were many good news from them. 23 February which is the National Day, we were supposed to march. We rehearsed before but when its the full rehearsal, they said we don't even contribute with the army band so we're not performing. Late 2009, we got 25 members. We combined with Maktab SOAS band and performed with them at the Islamic Conference Center in front of His Majesty The Sultan Of Brunei Darussalam.

In 2010, we only perform for the Annual Sports Day even though most of us are participating for it. However, i think this will be the best year for the school band because they are new instruments for us and i currently take two instruments and this time, its bigger than before.

The reason why I want to tell you about Music is because Music is our life. Without music, we are nothing but a silent world. It inspired us to have wonderful life.

Azlan from 4A here. Since I'm going to talk about video game music, I dont think speaking in formality suits my topic. Video game music is something that is popular mostly among gamers.

Well, to break it down, "video game music is a soundtrack of a video game". At least that's what Wikipedia would say. No, not what some people would think of. Without this music, we wont actually enjoy the game to the fullest.

Video game music actually controls the players emotion, behaviour, and action. For instance, like when we are playing a horror-based game and we're being attack by a massive groups of demon-like figures with no hands and no face. A panic situation kind of music will start to play, and the player will too eventually panic. Same goes with other game like action games. When in a heroic battle with an epic music, the player will get their spirits up playing the game.

Some games, like Guitar hero and Dance dance revolution, need music in order to play the game. Meaning, the music is the game. Get it? These games are called 'Rythem games', where you can play through your favourite songs and enjoy it in a form of game. You will have to press the correct button in the right timing of the song in order to get the scores. But dont worry too much about the game since we're focusing on music here.

Classic video game music, like Mario brothers, uses anolog waves as their music. Mostly they repeat their music over and over again because it wasnt easy to make music back in 1970's. Now, great games like Final fantasy, uses orchestral music to fire up gamers.
